What Is a Doctorate with Industry?
A doctorate in cooperation with industry combines scientific research with a specific practical problem-solving task within the company. The academic training takes place in close collaboration between the university and the industry partner.
The doctoral program remains anchored at the university: A faculty member authorized to provide doctoral candidate supervision provides academic guidance, and the university grants the doctoral degree. The company is a collaborative partner, not an examining body. How the collaboration is structured depends, among other things, on the field of study, the dissertation topic, and the specific collaboration model, and is agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.
